30+ Kilograms Of Heroin Transported By Mexican National

He personally transported several kilograms of heroin into Connecticut. A judge sentenced him to several years in prison.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Mexican national was sentenced to more than seven years in prison and will be deported after serving his prison term for smuggling more than 30 kilograms of heroin into Connecticut.

Jose David Silva Pestano, 33, trafficked the drugs from Mexico to the Bridgeport area. He made transports between April 2015 and March 2017, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

He was arrested in February 2017 in Arizona after crossing the border with nearly 12 kilograms of heroin.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute heroin, and one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin.
