4 Injured In 5-Vehicle, Wrong-Way Crash In Bridgeport: State Police
The crash occurred Sunday night on Route 8, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Four people suffered minor injuries Sunday when a vehicle got on Route 8 in the wrong direction, causing a five-vehicle crash near Exit 3, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash occurred at about 6:35 p.m. Four vehicles were traveling southbound, when the fifth vehicle, heading the wrong way, started the collisions.
"Vehicle #5 sideswiped Vehicle #1, which then caused Vehicle #5 to lose control and sideswipe Vehicle #2," the state police report reads. "Vehicle #5 then spun out and subsequently struck Vehicle #3 and Vehicle #4."

The four injured people from different vehicles were transported to area hospitals for treatment, according to state police. All five vehicles had to be towed to area auto body shops.
State police are continuing to investigate the crash; whether charges will be filed has not been disclosed.
