9th Annual Step Up for the Brave Challenge
Registration is now open for this fitness fundraiser benefitting Veterans experiencing homelessness.
On Saturday, August 26 fitness enthusiasts and those who honor our service men and women will come together at Homes for the Brave’s 9th Annual Step Up for the Brave Challenge. This fun event will raise critical funds for Connecticut’s Veterans experiencing homelessness.
Taking place at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT, participants will enter a Stair Climb Challenge, climbing 500 arena stairs per round following a guided route, or enter a Walking Challenge, following a specially-designed indoor course. Challenge attendees and those who cannot attend the August 26th Challenge may participate virtually in the Step UP for the Brave 40,000 Step Challenge, which runs through August 30.
The event will be co-hosted by WTNH Anchor/Reporter Alyssa Rae Taglia and Chaz from WPLR’s Chaz & AJ show. The cost to enter is just $40, and participants receive an event shirt, a light breakfast, and a chance to compete for prizes. Visit https://runsignup.com/stepupforthebrave to register today.

“All fitness levels are welcome, and there is something for everyone to enjoy,” said Vince Santilli, CEO/Executive Director of Homes for the Brave. “Whether you walk, run, or climb, all participants will show their support for Veterans in need.”
Proceeds from this event will support Homes for the Brave’s mission to help individuals experiencing homelessness, almost all of whom are Veterans, return to productive and meaningful lives. Total Mortgage Arena is located at 600 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT.
