Accused Bridgeport Drug Dealer Enters Plea In Federal Case

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 30-year-old Bridgeport man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin, announced United States Attorney John H. Durham.

Tyevhon King, also known as "Twin," was a member of a Bridgeport-based heroin trafficking organization that, between approximately April 2015 and March 2017, "received at least 30 kilograms of heroin that had been transported from Mexico, and then distributed the drug in the Bridgeport area," according to prosecutors. The investigation, which included multiple undercover heroin buys from King, revealed that he regularly received a total of more than three kilograms of heroin, which he distributed to his own customers.

During the investigation, investigators seized vehicles owned by King that contained "traps," typically used to conceal narcotics and other contraband.

King, and six others, was indicted by a grand jury in March, 2017, with heroin trafficking and related offenses, and he has been detained since his arrest that month.

He is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant on May 10, at which time he faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and maximum of life in prison.

This matter is being investigated by the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, DEA’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, and Bridgeport Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joseph Vizcarrondo and Alina Reynolds.
