"The 29-year-old male operator continued traveling north and passed through the intersection of John Street and struck a 71-year-old Bridgeport resident attempting to cross Water Street from the eastbound sidewalk."
Wilson said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing.
