Holley is accused of shooting and killing Leon Richardson at about 6:45 p.m. July 27. Richardson had just parked a car on Catherine Street, between Washington and Harral avenues, when he was struck multiple times by gunfire, according to police. He died at the scene.
Richardson, 18, was from Bridgeport's North End and was a former basketball standout at Bullard-Havens Technical High School.
Holley turned himself in to homicide detectives Friday night while accompanied by his mother and attorney, according to police. An arrest warrant had been issued for him.
Holley was held in juvenile detention and appeared before a juvenile court judge Monday. The murder charge required the case to be transferred to adult court Tuesday.
Holley is from Bridgeport's Hollow neighborhood and formerly lived at the Greene Homes housing complex.
Bridgeport police had withheld Holley's name until the case was officially transferred to adult court.
Detectives have not released information about a possible motive in the shooting.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact lead homicide Detective Thomas Harper at 203-581-5239.
