Arrest Made in Fatal Bridgeport Gang-Related Shooting
The fatal shooting occurred Friday and is said to be part of an ongoing dispute between gangs in two housing projects, the CT Post reports.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - A 19-year-old is facing charges for the murder of an 18-year-old in Bridgeport on Friday, police said.
According to police, three Bridgeport police detectives driving in the area of Madison Avenue and Frank Street around 12 p.m. heard several shots fired and then saw a male perpetrator flee the scene. A chase ensued and the perpetrator, identified as Deonte Tomlinson, 19, was detained without incident.

Kahlil Sloan-Diaz, 18, was sitting in his vehicle in the 290 block of Madison Avenue when he was shot, police said. Sloan-Diaz fled his vehicle to the corner of Madison Avenue and Frank Street and was transported by AMR to St. Vincent's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Tomlinson was initially charged with an outstanding violation of probation warrant with a bond of $50,000. He was later charged with the murder of Sloan-Diaz.

He is charged with murder, carrying a pistol without a permit, altering identity marks of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm. His bond was set at $1 million.
Police seized the weapon and clothing believed to be used in the incident.
The CT Post reports Sloan-Diaz was acquitted by a jury of charges in connection with a gang shooting in downtown Bridgeport three months ago. The shootings are reportedly part of a dispute between gangs in the Greene Homes and Trumbull Gardens housing projects, police told the Post.
