Attorney, Community Leader Killed In Bridgeport Crash

An attorney and leader of Bridgeport's Greek community has died following a car crash on New Year's Day.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Peter Tsimbidaros, 50, a prominent attorney and leader of Bridgeport's Greek community, has died from injuries he suffered in a New Year's Day car crash, according to The Connecticut Post.

Tsimbidaros was driving to have dinner with his parents shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday. His SUV and a Chrysler minivan collided at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street, The Post reported.

The driver of the Chrysler minivan was Keith Commerford, who was charged in an unrelated hit-and-run crash the day before on Chopsey Hill Road and Island Brook Avenue Extension, FOX 61 reported.

Parishioners went to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Park Avenue Thursday to remember Tsimbidaros. Father Georgios Livaditis told News 12 that the family was "in shock" and the whole community "devastated."
