Bail Kept High In Case Of Beaten Bridgeport Councilwoman
A city youth mentor brutally beat a city councilwoman after an argument, according to police.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Superior Court judge refused to lower a man's bail after he was arrested for allegedly beating a city councilwoman.
Sherman Perry is accused of brutally beating Councilwoman Enieda Martinez, according to the Connecticut Post. The two had a relationship but Martinez stopped taking his calls. Perry went to Martinez's home and assaulted her after an argument, police said.
Judge Robert Devlin refused to lower his bail from $250,000.

Martinez suffered a seizure along with numerous facial injuries. She was in the hospital for a week.
