If I had to choose the best movie I ever seen certainly BARNUM [1986]would come to mind.I watched the movie last night and so glad I did for the movie BARNUM swept you back in time in the very life of BARNUM the greatest showman ever.FROM his early years through his later years the epic covers all the bases.BURT LANCASTER'S role as P.T.BARNUM was superb to say the least.HE depicts BARNUM as though he was him so convincing.BURT LANCASTER tells his story giving a complete overview of who and what BARNUM really was.I learned so much about BARNUM from a historical aspect for the movie covers in depth of Barnums'life so well.Another honorable mention is the actress HANNA SCHYGULLA and her portrayal of the famous singer JENNY LIND.She is so talented and her role as JENNY LIND outstanding.And of course my favorite character TOM THUMB,THE GENERAL TOM THUMB,CHARLES STRATTON steals the show with an impeccable portrayal by SANDOR RASKI.-HE was beyond great as the midget so convincing -so realistic you can swear TOM THUMB was alive and well.ALL in all for those history buffs as well as others seeking a great movie about PT BARNUM see BARNUM [1986]it is indeed THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.
