Beardsley Zoo Announces Reopening Plan

The zoo is planning a June 1 reopening under new guidelines.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Beardsley Zoo announced it will reopen on June 1, according to a statement. The zoo is enacting new safety measures to accommodate opening, including staff training, new cleaning protocols, social distancing guidelines, and signage.

Beardsley Zoo will implement a new online ticketing system and split the day into two sessions allowing for up to 500 visitors per session. The zoo will open at 9 a.m. and close at noon for cleaning, then reopen at 1 p.m. and close at 4 p.m.

All visitors will be required to wear masks. The zoo will have a one-way loop that encourages social distancing. All buildings will be closed to the public.

Food will be available via online order and pickup from takeout windows. The gift shop will be open for online purchases which will be made available for pick up at gift shop kiosk.

Ticket prices will be reduced from $16 to $15 for an adult and from $13 to $10 for a child and a senior and as always children under 3 are free.
