Bridgeport is percolating with art as artists, organizations and community partners prepare for the 14th annual Bridgeport Art Trail. Festivities begin with the popular Thursday Night Downtown Kick Off Artists Party. Visitors can mingle and meander between the Reads Ground Floor Gallery at 1042 Broad St and the Arcade Mall next door, viewing 4 art exhibits, enjoying live music and lite bites. Participating venues include City Lights and Ursa Galleries. On Friday, discover the new downtown public art murals at the Happy Hour Public Art Crawl. On Saturday and Sunday artists invite the public to tour art studios citywide, American Fabrics, The NEST Art Factory, Metro Art Studios, The Knowlton and Reads Art Space. On Saturday your ticket purchase supports Ukraine We Stand at the Biju Theatre. Rock out to the music of classic Rock and Blues Hall of Famers, “The Name Droppers” band members performed and cut albums with James Cotton, Johnny Winter and Charlie Karp the bass player for Jimi Hendrix (That’s why they call themselves the Name Droppers.)
