Tebow, a former NFL and Heisman-winning college quarterback, worked out for professional baseball scouts Tuesday.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball team has formally offered former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow a contract to play for the team during the 2016 season.
“The Bluefish welcome Tim with open arms,” said Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole in a statement. “The Atlantic League is all about giving players opportunity, and we think Bridgeport would be a great place for him to begin his professional baseball career.”
Whether Tebow will accept the offer is not yet known, but he will be called up to the Bridgeport Bluefish roster, effective immediately, if he accepts and signs the contract.

The 29-year-old recently announced his desire to play professional baseball and was given the opportunity to participate in a workout in front of more than 40 Major League Baseball scouts on Tuesday. During his workout, Tebow hit five home runs in batting practice and recorded an “above average” time in the 60-yard dash. He focused on showcasing his outfield skills during the workout and also faced live pitching from former Major Leaguers David Aardsma and Chad Smith.
Reactions to Tebow's baseball skills ran the gamut from a "complete waste of time" from one scout to "better than I expected" from another scout, reports USA Today.
