Bridgeport Councilwoman Injured In Attack; Suspect Caught: Report
The assault occurred on Feb. 22 and resulted in the councilwoman being hospitalized.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Councilwoman Eneida Martinez was hospitalized for close to a week late last month after she was allegedly beaten by the founder of Men’s Community Empowerment Group, Sherman Perry, reports the Connecticut Post.
Martinez suffered face, head and shoulder injuries in the Feb. 22 attack, which police said occurred after Martinez, who had been in a relationship with Perry, had stopped taking his calls.
In a Facebook post this week, Martinez thanked supporters for their well wishes. "These five days of hospital and bed bound have been a rough journey to say the least, but by the grace of god and blood I am covered, and will be perfectly fine."
