Bridgeport DMV Worker Arrested For Title Fraud

The DMV worker was charged with several criminal counts related to title fraud.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport DMV office employee was arrested on several criminal charges related to title fraud.

Aarron Soares was charged with nine counts each of second-degree forgery, third-degree larceny, motor vehicle title fraud and third-degree computer crime. He was released after posting a $100,000 bond.

He was placed on administrative leave from the DMV effective May 4.

DMV inspectors began an investigation in December into the title fraud. The matter remains under investigation.

“We have taken strong and quick action to address this alleged misconduct and hold our employees to the highest standard,” said DMV Commissioner Michael Bzdyra. “While I am extremely disappointed in this incident, the vast majority of our employees are hardworking and strive to serve the public every day. ”
