Bridgeport Educator Remembered For Her Passion Of Helping Others
Elena Kroupnik, who recently died at age 47, was a speech language pathologist at Bridgeport's A.B. Skane School.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Elena Kroupnik, a 47-year-old speech language pathologist who recently died, is being remembered as a "beloved colleague and friend" by the staff and students at Bridgeport's A.B. Skane School where she worked.
"Personally and professionally, our lives here will not be the same without her," Jenn Formoso, a licensed clinical social worker at Skane School, told Patch about Kroupnik, her colleague. "She was one in a million, and her sunny spirit will always be felt here in our school, and deeply missed."
Kroupnik had suffered from congenital heart disease, and she received a heart valve transplant a few months ago, reported News 12 Connecticut.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist Kroupnik's husband, Alex Meyerovich, with expenses, and to aid their two daughters going forward. As of Monday, more than $31,000 had been raised toward a goal of $50,000.
Formoso said Kroupnik, whom she worked with for eight years, "was passionate about serving and helping young children and families from bilingual households." Her passing left "a significant void in the lives of so many who loved her."

"The world has lost a good person," wrote Ulyana Bolgachenko on GoFundMe about Kroupnik. "She was a loving mother to her wonderful daughters. Those who knew her would remark on her charming smile and commitment to her family."
Added Formoso, "Elena lit up any room she walked into and made people feel better just by being present. Her beautiful family is grateful for the support they have received."
