Bridgeport Energy Company Worker Stole From Customers: DCJ
The woman stole more than $35,000 through a scheme, according to law enforcement.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport woman was arrested after she stole more than $35,000 from customers of Santa Energy Corp., according to the state Division of Criminal Justice.
Daneek Thompson, 37, worked for the company and stole the money by cashing checks drawn from funds that came from Santa customers. The customers had paid to lock into heating fuel prices, according to the DCJ.
The company absorbed the loss for its customers.

Thompson is charged with first-degree larceny and first-degree computer crime. She was released on a $35,000 bond.
