Bridgeport To Host Community Discussion On Extreme Heat And Air Quality

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Bridgeport Department of Health & Social Services will host a community discussion on Aug. 19 about extreme heat, air quality and their potential effects on residents' health.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Newfield Branch Library, 755 Central Ave.

Residents will have an opportunity to learn about the connections among climate, air quality and public health, ask questions, and share their experiences with environmental conditions affecting Bridgeport neighborhoods.

The event is free, and light refreshments will be provided.

The discussion is hosted by the Bridgeport Department of Health & Social Services in partnership with Park City Communities. Funding and support are provided through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Building Resilience Against Climate Effects program, the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Yale Center for Climate Change and Health.
