Bridgeport Hotel Closes; Apartments Planned For Building
A downtown Bridgeport hotel has closed and the building has been sold to a developer, according to a report.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The downtown Holiday Inn has closed as a developer purchased the hotel and plans to turn it into apartments, The Connecticut Post reported. The deal was closed on Thursday on the 40-year-old building located at 1070 Main St.
The hotel was shut down as of Jan. 31 due to a loss of business related to the pandemic. The hotel has not filed documentation with the state notifying employees of a mass layoff, as hotel officials said they're confident that a new restaurant/bar/banquet facility will "create additional job opportunities."
