Bridgeport Liquor Stores Displeased With New Rule
Several established liquor stores filed a complaint over a rule change.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Several Bridgeport package storeshave filed a legal complaint against a new rule that changes distance rules for where liquor stores can be opened.
The new rule lowered the distance between established liquor stores, houses of worship, schools and hospitals from 1,500 feet to 750 feet, according to the Connecticut Post.
The rule change came after Michael DeFilippo opened a liquor store on Brooklawn Avenue after being granted a variance, but was later forced to close after a Superior Court judge tossed it out. To sign up for Bridgeport breaking news alerts and more, click here.
