Bridgeport Location Receiving Donations Through October 31st for YPOWR's Annual "Warm Someone's Heart" Blanket Drive

Y.P.O.W.R. – Young Professionals of Waterbury Region, an umbrella organization within the Waterbury Regional Chamber – continues their “Warm Someone’s Heart Blanket Drive” through Monday, October 31st.

Sponsored by Thrivent Financial, the organization is seeking donations of new or lightly-used blankets, and monetary donations that will benefit the following Greater Waterbury area non-profit organizations, and the hundreds of individuals and families they generously serve: Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries, Greater Waterbury YMCA, Naugatuck YMCA, New Opportunities, Inc. – Meals on Wheels Program, Salvation Army, and St. Vincent DePaul Mission Homeless Shelter.

Chaired by Y.P.O.W.R. member Robyn Ricciardone of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Y.P.O.W.R.’s annual drive seeks donations of funds as well as hundreds of blankets that are needed by low-income and homeless people and families throughout the region.

Drop off locations of donated new or gently-used blankets are: CT Transportation Solutions’ three locations at 440 Chase River Road in Waterbury, 35 Elm Street in Naugatuck, and 2710 North Avenue in Bridgeport; Health Complex Medical at 84 Progress Lane in Waterbury, Attn: Jack; Mathnasium at 1249 West Main Street in Waterbury, Attn: Maggie; Premier Subaru at 795 Straits Tpke. in Watertown, Attn: Kerri; Seven Angels Theatre at One Plank Road in Waterbury, Attn: Melissa; Thrivent Financial, 934 Terryville Avenue in Bristol; Urology Specialists, PC at 1570 Straits Turnpike, Middlebury; and the Waterbury Regional Chamber offices, 83 Bank Street, 4th Floor, Waterbury.

The mission of Y.P.O.W.R. is to energize young professionals aged 21 to 39 who are looking to grow their careers in the Waterbury area by engaging them in positive opportunities for professional development, educational, social, and community service.
