Bridgeport Lounge/Social Club's Liquor License Temporarily Suspended

VIP Lounge & Social Club was found by the state Liquor Control Commission to have violated several rules, according to officials.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — VIP Lounge & Social Club in Bridgeport recently had its liquor license temporarily suspended by the state Liquor Control Commission for several violations, according to officials.

The establishment, at 1086 Pembroke St., was found to have violated the following rules:

  • APPLICATIONS FOR PERMITS, RENEWALS
  • PERMIT TO BE RECORDED
  • FIRE SAFETY
  • CONDUCT OF PERMIT PREMISES-UNLAWFUL CONDUCT-SMOKING
  • RECORDS OF LIQUOR PURCHASES AND SALES
  • HOURS AND DAYS OF CLOSING

Patch reached out to the owners of the nightclub for comment about the suspension, but did not immediately receive a reply.

VIP Lounge was suspended following "either: (1) a formal hearing in which the Liquor Control Commission found a violation of state liquor laws, or (2) entering into a voluntary agreement to settle allegations without a finding of fault," according to state officials.

As a result, VIP Lounge will not be permitted to sell alcohol on Wednesday and Thursday, and it paid a fine of $250.
