Bridgeport Man, 39, Accused of Sexual Assaults on Juveniles: Police

NORWALK, CT — A 39-year-old Bridgeport man has been arrested by Norwalk police in connection with two sexual assaults on juvenile victims in 2006, according to authorities.
Jose Cardenas was arrested on a warrant Friday on charges of first-degree Sexual Assault, fourth-degree Sexual Assault (two counts), and Risk of Injury to a Minor (two counts).
Details of the incidents, which allegedly occurred in May of that year, were not disclosed, nor were specifics about circumstances of Cardenas' arrest.

"In May of 2016, Special Victims Detectives began investigating allegations that Cardenas had sexually assaulted two juvenile victims in 2006," Norwalk police wrote in a statement. "After conducting an extensive investigation, SVU Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Cardenas."
He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond Friday and was scheduled to appear in court later the same day.
