Bridgeport Man Accused Of Shooting Victim Outside Of Local Nightclub
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Federal Street and Madison Avenue in Bridgeport, during the early morning hours of Jan. 1.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 28-year-old Bridgeport man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with assault and weapons violations in connection with a Jan. 1 shooting outside Club Azul in Bridgeport that left the victim with a leg injury, according to police.
Christian Xavier Lopez-Rivera was found and taken into custody Thursday morning by members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force. He was charged with the following:
- First-degree assault
- Second-degree assault with a firearm
- First-degree reckless endangerment
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Illegal discharge of a firearm
The shooting occurred at about 3 a.m. near the intersection of Federal Street and Madison Avenue. According to police, the incident began with an altercation inside the club, and the shooting outside.

Police said the 19-year-old victim, also a Bridgeport resident, suffered an injury that was not a threat to his life.
Lopez-Rivera was held in lieu of bail of $500,000, and was scheduled to arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
