Bridgeport Man Accused Of Stealing Cash, Vehicle From Trumbull Daycare: Police

Police said a Bridgeport man was arrested in connection to a burglary reported at a Trumbull daycare.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested in connection to a burglary reported at a Trumbull daycare last month, the Trumbull Police Department announced Thursday.

In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Falkenstein said the owner contacted police on Sept. 20 around 7:15 a.m. to report the daycare, located on Beardsley Parkway, has been entered overnight and approximately $1,200 in cash was stolen.

The owner also told police a car was missing, Falkenstein said.

As officers were investigating the incident, the vehicle was tracked to the parking lot of a Bridgeport variety store, according to Falkenstein.

When officers arrived at the store, they found Latrell Eppes, 32, of Bridgeport, exiting the business and entering the vehicle, Falkenstein said.

Officers arrested Eppes and found a large amount of cash, suspected narcotics, the keys to the stolen vehicle and cash believed to have been stolen from the daycare in his possession, according to Falkenstein.

Eppes was charged with burglary, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of narcotic among other related charges, Falkenstein said.

He was held on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 30, according to Falkenstein.
