Bridgeport Man Arrested In Fairfield Armed Robbery Case: Police

The suspect faces charges after a Fairfield police investigation into an armed robbery last week at a convenience store.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 40-year-old Bridgeport man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery on March 2 at a convenience store on Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield.

Wesner Thelamour was taken into custody on Monday and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit. He was held in lieu of bail of $20,000, and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Cout on Tuesday.

The case unfolded at about 9 p.m. on the 2nd, when officers were called to News Express at 200 Tunxis Hill Road after receiving a report of a robbery in progress. Investigators said a masked person entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee.

"The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot," wrote Sgt. Jenna Wellington in a statement. "No injuries were reported during the incident and the Fairfield Detective Bureau responded immediately to process the scene."

Fairfield detectives used a "combination of technological and traditional investigative methods" to determine potential suspects, and worked with members of the Stamford and Bridgeport Police Departments to identify and track down individuals connected to the incident. During the investigation, detectives identified similarities between this incident and cases being investigated by the Stamford Police
Department, according to Wellington.

Investigators later identified a suspect and obtained search warrants for a vehicle and residence in Bridgeport, which led to Thelamour's arrest. He was found in possession of a handgun, police said.

"Additionally, detectives found multiple pieces of evidence as a result of the search warrants that will result in additional charges relating to the robbery," Wellington said. "The investigation remains active and ongoing."
