Bridgeport Man Injured In NH Snowmobile Crash

A Bridgeport man suffered injuries when he crashed his snowmobile in New Hampshire over the weekend.

PITTSBURG, NH — A Bridgeport man was injured in a snowmobile crash in New Hampshire over the weekend, according to a statement from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Officers received reports of a snowmobile crash on Back Lake in Pittsburg on Saturday afternoon.

Andres Silva, 27, of Bridgeport, was operating a snowmobile along with a group. The group left the main trail and ended up in a business parking lot adjacent to Back Lake, according to the statement. Silva drove his snowmobile onto the lake in an effort to find the trail again.

While riding from the lake back to the parking area to locate the group, Silva lost control of his snowmobile as he was turning to enter the shoreline access to the parking lot, striking a tree stump on the shoreline of Back Lake.

He was thrown from the snowmobile and sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.

Silva's group was close by when the wreck occurred and went to help him. After being assessed by emergency personnel, Silva was transported by ambulance to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
