Bridgeport Man Killed In 'Targeted' Bridgeport Shooting: Police

The victim was found in Building 4 of the Greene Homes Housing Community on Highland Avenue, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 45-year-old Bridgeport man was shot and killed Wednesday night, and the department is asking for the public's help in finding the culprits.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was discovered unresponsive at about 10:15 p.m. in the fifth floor hallway of Building 4 in the Greene Homes Housing Community on Highland Avenue. He was found lying down and appeared to have succumbed to fatal injuries, which medics quickly confirmed upon arrival.

"The Bridgeport Police Department’s thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s family and friends," wrote Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad and Forensic Identification Unit are investigating.

"The Detective Bureau is currently in the process of interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, and notifying next of kin," Gilleran said, adding that the victim was shot multiple times and "appears to have been targeted."
