Bridgeport Man Sentenced After Fatal Overdose

A woman was dropped off dead at a hospital.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 27-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to four years in federal prison for distributing heroin and fentanyl that was used in a fatal 2016 overdose.

A 40-year-old woman was dropped off at St. Vincent's Medical Center and was dead on arrival, said the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office. The death was ruled an overdose.

Police learned that Perry DeShazo aka "Hov" and "Amafia Hov" had supplied the fatal drug. He was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of distribution of heroin and fentanyl. He was on state probation at the time of the offense.
