Bridgeport Man Sentenced To Prison In Fentanyl, Firearm Case: Feds

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 32-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for fentanyl trafficking and firearm offenses, according to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan.

U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver sentenced Moeties Brown to 120 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release.

According to court documents and statements made in court, the FBI's Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and the Bridgeport Police Department learned in 2024 that Brown was selling narcotics near his residence on Maple Street in Bridgeport.

Investigators observed Brown and others engaging in suspected drug sales on Nov. 20, 2024, authorities said. Brown was arrested on state charges after investigators found a distribution quantity of marijuana on his person. Searches of his vehicle and residence uncovered more than 100 grams of fentanyl, two handguns and ammunition, according to court documents.

Federal prosecutors said Brown has nine felony convictions, including convictions related to five gunpoint robberies of delivery workers and cashiers.

Brown has been held since his federal arrest on May 9, 2025. He pleaded guilty on May 19, 2026, to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force, the Bridgeport Police Department and the Stratford Police Department. The task force includes personnel from the FBI, Connecticut State Police, and the police departments in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Trumbull and Westport.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mary G. Vitale and Daniel George prosecuted the case.

Federal prosecutors said the case is part of Operation Take Back America, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative.
