Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim Wins Another Term
Ganim, a Democrat, won his fourth term as Bridgeport's leader, in a special election Tuesday.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Incumbent Democratic Mayor Joe Ganim won another term in office Tuesday night, when he defeated rivals John Gomes and David R. Herz in a special election.
According to unofficial results from the Secretary of State's office, Ganim received 6,366 votes, or nearly 60 percent, compared to the tally for Gomes, a Democrat who ran as an independent, of 4,131, or about 38 percent. Herz, a Republican, received 357, or a little over 3 percent.
The victory marked Ganim's third consecutive term win, and was the fourth election for the post, after a judge ordered a new primary, following an absentee ballot scandal.
