Bridgeport Mayor Will Attend Trump’s Presidential Inauguration, Others in CT Will Not

Boughton, who is gearing up for a 2018 gubernatorial bid, says he has a lot to do.

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton has declined to attend this year’s Presidential inauguration, while Bridgeport’s chief executive joe Ganim will attend, CT Post reported.

Boughton and Ganim will both be attending the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors next week, according to CT Post. Boughton cited having a lot to do and the logistics of the inaugurations, which he still called breathtaking, as reasons for not attending.

Boughton, who is gearing up for a 2018 gubernatorial bid, was not an adamant supporter of Trump during the election, CT Post reported. Other big city Democratic mayors from Hartford, New Haven, Norwalk and Stamford also do not plan on attending the inauguration.
