Bridgeport Pastor Sold Church To Himself for $1, Police Say: Report

Police say the pastor now faces charges.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A local pastor is accused of stealing the church he preaches at, reports the Connecticut Post. Bishop Franklin L. Fountain, 55, is due in court to address larceny charges after police say he forged deed documents and sold the Fountain of Youth Cathedral to himself for $1.

He could face more than 20 years in prison. Fountain is now the owner of the $1.5 million Madison Avenue property, according to city property records cited by the Post.
