Bridgeport Police, CT Police Foundation Offer College Scholarships

The two organizations have teamed up on the program, which benefits high school students who want to go into law enforcement.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Chief Roderick Porter and the Bridgeport Police Department are proud to announce their participation in the Connecticut Police Foundation Scholarship Program. This program provides financial assistance to deserving high school students in Connecticut who are passionate about pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible students at the CPF's annual meeting on June 13, 2024. This initiative reflects the Bridgeport Police Department's commitment to fostering the next generation of dedicated public servants within the state.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Connecticut Police Foundation in supporting and investing in the future of law enforcement," Chief Porter stated. "This scholarship program offers exceptional opportunities for motivated students to pursue their academic goals and contribute to the safety and well-being of our communities."

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
• Complete an application online at www.cpcanet.org.
• Submit a written recommendation from their local police chief or the police chief in the town where they attend high school.
• Forward all application materials to the CPF Awards Committee by April 15, 2024.
