Bridgeport Police K9 Officer Injured In Stolen Vehicle Case: Police
The incident began Sunday near Frank Street and Madison Avenue in Bridgeport, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport police K9 officer suffered injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening Sunday in connection with a stolen vehicle case, which ended in Derby with the suspect's arrest, according to Bridgeport police.
The incident began at about 1:50 p.m. with a report of the stolen vehicle near Frank Street and Madison Avenue in Bridgeport.
"Stolen vehicle was seen by K9 Officer before striking the cruiser causing non-life-threatening injuries to the officer," wrote Tiadora Josef, the city's Director of Public Information, in a statement.

After the crash, the vehicle then fled northbound on Route 8, with police in pursuit, however the pursuit was called off by Exit 12.
At about 3 p.m., members of the Derby Police Department apprehended the suspect and recovered the vehicle.
