Bridgeport Police Officer Suspended For Excessive Force

A police officer who struck a teen on the back of the head with his gun has been suspended.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A police officer who hit a teenager on the back of the head with a gun in 2019 has been suspended without pay for 20 days, according to The Connecticut Post. Officer Gianni Capozziello was suspended following an investigation that found he violated the department's policy on excessive use of force.

A union official said they will be filing a grievance on Capozziello's behalf.

This is the second time Capozziello has been suspended for violating the department's excessive force policy.
