Bridgeport Police Pulling Out of A&E Television Series

City officials fear Bridgeport would receive an inaccurate national reputation from the show.

BRIDGEPORT, CT - Bridgeport officials announced over the weekend the city will be pulling out of a new police television series, CT Post reported.

The series, “Live PD,” has been showing since October on A&E, broadcasting police officers on patrol Friday evenings in six cities nationwide, according to CT Post. Co-executive producer Don Sikorski said City Hall told him two weeks ago they wanted to pull out.

City officials said they feared Bridgeport would get an innacurate national reputation, despite the show’s positive reception, the CT Post reported. Bridgeport is on track to end the year with fewer homicides than in 2015.
