Bridgeport Pride Flag Raising Ceremony 6/22 at 11 AM
State Treasurer Erick Russell to be Keynote Speaker at Thursday, June 22, 2023 Program at Margaret Morton Government Center
Mayor Joe Ganim and the City of Bridgeport are hosting a LGBTQ+ Flag Raising Ceremony in celebration of Gay Pride Month at Margaret Morton Government Center, 999 Broad Street, Bridgeport on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11 AM. This annual ceremony marks the 54th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City.
State Treasurer Erick Russell, the first openly gay person of color to serve as a state Constitutional Officer, will be the keynote speaker. Mayor Joe Ganim, City Council President Aidee Nieves and other officials will offer remarks. The Reverend Sara Smith, the pastor of United Congregational Church, the oldest church in Greater Bridgeport and a lesbian, will offer a brief prayer. Paul DiMauro from the CT Gay Men's Chorus will sing the National Anthem.
