Bridgeport Rescue Mission Partnering to Collect Winter Coats
Thanks to the volunteerism of participating Allstate agencies, Bridgeport Rescue Mission will receive a $10,000 grant
Allstate: More than 4,500 people experience homelessness on any given night in Connecticut – and nearly 1 in 5 are children[i]. As the temperature starts to drop, Bridgeport Rescue Mission and The Allstate Foundation are coming together to collect new and gently used winter coats in 13 Allstate agencies throughout the state. Community members are encouraged to stop by their closest participating agency to donate from Nov. 4-15 during normal business hours.
Thanks to the volunteerism of participating Allstate agencies, Bridgeport Rescue Mission will receive a $10,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands® grant to further their work.
“Thousands of Connecticut residents experience homelessness every day and many lower-income households hover on the brink of homelessness,” said Paul Trindade, Allstate sales leader. “I’m proud that so many of our local agency owners are working with Bridgeport Rescue Mission to support community members in need this holiday season.”

This donation drive is part of Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Project, which aims to collect 15,000 coats this holiday season for community members in need.
“We are excited to partner with The Allstate Foundation to provide neighbors in need with warm coats this winter,” says Bridgeport Rescue Mission CEO Frank Williams. “Great ThanksGiving Project is the Mission’s largest outreach of the year, touching thousands of men, women and children. It’s only possible because of generous partners like Allstate and The Allstate Foundation, who enable the Mission to provide the support people need, when they need it most.”
