Bridgeport Resident Rigged Barcode at Naugatuck Walmart to Buy Pots and Pans: Police

Naugatuck police say they were called to the giant retailer on a larceny complaint.

NAUGATUCK, CT - Bridgeport and New Haven residents are accused of tampering with goods in an effort to secure a significantly lower price for goods sold at Walmart, police said.

Police said they responded to Walmart on June 3 at 3:35 p.m. for a larceny complaint.

Police said Erica Labrador, 31, of Eastern Street in New Haven and Sanjuana Suarez, 34, of Jackson Street in Bridgeport, taped a different barcode to a box of pots and pans.

They went to a self-checkout register where the pots scanned for $7.96 instead of the full $129, police said.

They were both charged with sixth-degree larceny.
