Bridgeport Residents Charged with Sex Trafficking of a Minor: Police

A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging two residents with sex trafficking offenses.

BRIDGEPORT, CT – A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging two Bridgeport residents with offenses related to the sex trafficking of a minor.

The indictment was returned Aug. 9 and unsealed Monday. Darryl Morris, also known as “King Sincere,” 32,was arrested Aug. 16, and Neshaya Dozier, 26, on Aug. 19.

Between Nov. 2014 and May 2016, Morris and Dozier allegedly conspired to recruit, harbor and transport a minor to engage in commercial acts, according to a release. Morris allegedly did so with force, threats of force, fraud and coercion.

The two are charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor and sex trafficking of a minor. The charged offenses carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of imprisonment of life.

Morris is also charged with one count of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, which carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life.

The matter is being investigated by a number of police departments, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Both are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
