Bridgeport Road Rage Case Ends With Victim's Thumb Bitten Off: Report

The incident reportedly occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Park and Benham avenues.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 56-year-old man had to have one of his thumbs reattached to his hand Thursday after it had been bitten off by a 38-year-old Bridgeport man, who was eventually arrested on an assault charge, reported the Connecticut Post.

The biting incident occurred during a road rage altercation at the intersection of Park and Benham avenues. Authorities reportedly said the victim drove himself to Bridgeport Hospital after he picked his severed thumb off the ground.

Arrested on charges of first-degree assault, breach of peace and interfering with an officer was Francisco Navarro, who reportedly is on probation in connection with a burglary/assault/threatening case from August 2021 out of Milford.

Navarro is being held in lieu of bail of $350,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18.
