Bridgeport Seeks Quick Tests For Emergency Responders
The city is looking to secure quick coronavirus tests for emergency responders.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport is seeking quick testing for emergency responders as there has been a spike of COVID-19 cases, the Associated Press reported. Mayor Joe Ganim said the city is working with the Department of Public Health to secure the tests, which provide results in as little as 10 minutes.
Eleven members of the police department and 22 fire department employees have been quarantined due to exposure to the virus, AP reported. The tests would reduce the need for these quarantines by providing fast results.
Bridgeport has 859 confirmed cases. There have been 13,989 confirmed coronavirus cases, 671 deaths and 1,779 current hospitalizations in Connecticut.
