Bridgeport Superintendent To Visit Neighborhoods During Citywide Student Ice Cream Tour

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Royce Avery is scheduled to visit neighborhoods across the city Friday as part of the district's first Citywide Student Ice Cream Tour.

According to the district, Avery will distribute free ice cream to students while meeting with families and listening to community members during stops at eight locations across Bridgeport.

The tour is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with the following stops:

• 2:00–2:25 p.m. — Trumbull Gardens Multipurpose Center
• 2:25–2:50 p.m. — B.J. Brown Memorial Park
• 2:50–3:15 p.m. — Greens Homes Apartments
• 3:15–3:40 p.m. — Washington Park
• 3:40–4:05 p.m. — P.T. Apartments
• 4:05–4:30 p.m. — Bernie Lofton Park (Wentfield)
• 4:30–4:55 p.m. — Newfield Park
• 4:55–5:20 p.m. — Success Park

The district said the initiative is intended to connect with students and families outside the classroom through community engagement.

Bridgeport Public Schools invited students and families to visit one of the tour locations to receive free ice cream and meet Avery.
