Bridgeport Wins Green City Award

From The City of Bridgeport: Bridgeport has just been named one of the Greenest Cities in America by Insurify. Award recipients were evaluated on environmentally-friendly living and driving behaviors.

“We are continually looking for ways, as a city, to be more green,” said Mayor Ganim. “Protecting our parks, decreasing our carbon footprint and bringing the latest renewable energy technologies to Bridgeport in order to guarantee a cleaner world for our residents and future generations.”

Cities won higher scores for having eco-conscious driving practices, green vehicle features, low urban sprawl, healthy air quality, dedicated park space, and renewable electricity programs. The community with the highest score from each state was identified to form the winner’s roster.

“Our natural environment is a finite and precious resource,” said Insurify CEO, Snejina Zacharia. “Appreciating and protecting it is a virtue, and those who practice it should be recognized.”
