Bridgeport Woman Arrested For Wrong-Way Crash On Route 15
The crash sent four people, including the wrong-way driver, to the hospital late Tuesday night.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport woman was arrested for a wrong-way crash on Route 15 in Fairfield late Tuesday night that sent three other people to the hospital. Ashley Cooper, 59, of Garfield Avenue in Bridgeport, was also hospitalized for injuries sustained in the three-car crash, according to state police.
The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. on Feb. 13 when police say Cooper was driving her Nissan Altima southbound in the left lane on Route 15 North near Exit 46 in Fairfield. The Altima struck a GMC Acadia, which lost control into the right lane and struck a Toyota Rav4, according to police.
The three occupants of the GMC were taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured and refused medical treatment, according to police. Cooper was treated and taken to Bridgeport Hospital for her injuries.

Cooper was arrested on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
All three vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene, according to police.
