Bridgeport's Burroughs-Saden Library Reopens After Closure
The library reopened on Wednesday following a nearby water main break.

From the City of Bridgeport: BRIDGEPORT, CT — The City of Bridgeport Burroughs- Saden Library was closed today, January 2, 2018 due to a water main break. The library is expected to reopen tomorrow, January 3, 2018 with regular business hours.
Due to the water main break, the library had no water and therefore no heat. Due to the lack of water, there were also no bathroom facilities available. The temperature in the building was approximately 58 degrees. John Ricci, Head of Public Facilities, visited the building and assessed the situation with a representative from Aquarion.
On the advice of the City's Labor Relations Department, all Burroughs-Saden staff members were sent home. A public facilities staff member and Aquarion repairmen were on site and worked to repair the problem.
