Broken Elevator Endangers Tenants In Bridgeport Building: Report
The only elevator at a Lindley Street apartment complex has reportedly been out of service for three weeks.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Some upper floor tenants in an apartment complex on Lindley Street in Bridgeport are feeling trapped, because the building's only elevator has been out of service for three weeks, News 12 Connecticut reported.
Some of the building's elderly and disabled tenants reportedly are not able to navigate the stairs, which means they have not been able to attend medical or other appointments.
City officials are investigating the matter, which reportedly is a violation of housing laws, but a spokesperson for the complex told News 12 they are waiting for parts to repair the elevator, which are on back order.
