BRIDGEPORT YOUTH HONOR LOCAL HEROES THROUGH ART EXHIBITION

CATALYST CT AND HOUSATONIC MUSEUM OF ART PRESENT “ROOTED IN COMMUNITY: PORTRAITS OF EVERYDAY HEROES, CHAPTER 2”

WHO:               Student Artists: Jasmine Acevedo, Jermel Allen, Phillip Brockenberry, Alex Echevarria, Israel Gonzalez, Madicyn Johnson, Jaylynd Leon, Carlos Marcolino, Nacirema McKenna-Evans, Juan Medina, Jeremiah Nembhard, Alexandra Pascoal, Carlos Walker, Noah Womack, Representatives; Catalyst CT

WHAT:              Catalyst CT, in partnership with the Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA), will present Rooted in Community: Portraits of Everyday Heroes, Chapter 2, an exhibition featuring original works in photography, paintings, and sculptures created by young artists participating in Catalyst CT programs.

The exhibition highlights local “Everyday Heroes,” in Bridgeport whose leadership, mentorship, and service continue to positively impact the community. Through hands-on artistic expression, participating youth explored themes of inspiration, resilience, and personal growth.

About the Housatonic Museum of Art

The Housatonic Museum of Art (HMA) holds one of the largest art collections of any community college in the United States with over 7,000 artworks.
