If you’ve ever received care from a PA or APRN, you’ve experienced the important role of an APP — an Advanced Practice Provider.

APPs are highly trained medical professionals with advanced degrees and specialized clinical training. They diagnose and treat patients, prescribe medications and provide care in many different specialties, working closely with physicians, nurses and other members of the health care team.

Their role is especially important in helping expand access to care, filling gaps and making sure patients can get the care they need, when they need it.

At St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Hartford HealthCare primary and urgent care locations throughout Fairfield County, APPs are an important part of the care team, helping thousands of patients each year.
